Supporting and furthering the goals and activities of the Brandywine Workshop of Philadelphia, PA
For over a quarter century, the Brandywine Workshop has been a leader in the development of printmaking as a fine art. Located in a restored historic firehouse in Philadelphia, PA., the Brandywine Workshop has been internationally recognized for providing world class and emerging artists with specialized printmaking training and services.
Through its printmaking and arts education programs, the Brandywine Workshop seeks to enhance the role of people of color as visual artists, art professionals, and art lovers. Its goals include:
- Training artists and students in fine art printmaking and related arts with an emphasis on new technologies.
- Enhancing the quality and richness of the visual arts through active participation of artists and audiences from culturally diverse backgrounds.
- Enabling artists and students of diverse backgrounds and experiences to learn and train in a setting that is collaborative, experimental and adheres to high standards.
- Acquainting the public with the excellence of American printmaking as represented by Brandywine Workshop's diverse and highly prized print collection.
- Working in collaboration with other culturally diverse and ethnic specific institutions to enhance exhibitions, collections, teaching and mentoring of future generations of artists, curators, and art historians.
